Casey's Crew thanks you for your support!
As published July 18, 2007

We would like to thank our community for supporting our Festival of Life, June 10 at Watkins Park. The day was a celebration of life recognizing cancer survivors and their families. All proceeds will benefit "Casey's Crew" Light the Night fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk is a two-mile twilight walk during which participants carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by blood cancer. Casey's Crew is a team of individuals that raise money in honor of Mt. Airy resident Casey Isreal and all individuals battling blood cancers. Thanks to research funded by the Society, Casey is in remission.

We would like to especially thank the overwhelming support of Mayor Frank Johnson and local businesses that helped make the festival a success. They are J&P Pizza, Green Turtle, Mt. Airy Liquor, Super Suppers, Weis, Safeway, Super Fresh, Peacock Cleaners, Sam's Club (Frederick), and Armand's Pizza (Rockville). Your generosity is appreciated more than words can say!

Thank you to the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department for joining us. The kids absolutely loved touring the fire truck and listening to Captain Shaw explain the features of the truck.

Also, a special thanks to our friends from the Montgomery County Harley Owners Group for their assistance. We couldn't have done it without you!

If you would like to make a donation you can go to Casey's Crew website at http://teams.lightthenight.org/CaseysCrew.
